What We Believe

The Scriptures Inspired

The Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. In its original writing, it is inspired, infallible and inerrant. The Bible, a revelation from God to men, the infallible rule of faith, conduct, and superior to conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian faith, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.

Romans 16:25-26; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Exodus 24:4; Deut. 4:1-2; Deut. 6:3-7; Psalms 19:7-10; Ps. 119:11,89,105,140; Matt 5:17-18; Luke 24:44-46; John 5:39; John 17:17; 1 Cor. 2:12-13; 1 Thes. 2:13; John 1:1 ; Matt 4:4; Isaiah 40:8; Matt 24:35 ; John 16:13 ; Prov. 30:5

The One True God

The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent, self-revealed “I AM,” and has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association, by simultaneously existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Deut. 6:4; Mark 12:29; Isa. 43:10, 11; Matt. 28:19; Deut. 4:35 ; 2 Sam. 7:22 ; 1 Kings 8:60 2 Kings 5:15 ; Nehemiah 9:6 ; Ps. 86:10 ; Isaiah 44:6 ; Mark 12:29-34 ; Gal. 3:20 ; Eph 4:6 ; 1 Tim 2:5.

The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ

Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ, He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus perfectly revealed and did the will of God, taking upon Himself human nature with its demands and necessities and identifying Himself completely with mankind yet without sin. He honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and in His substitutionary death on the cross He made provision for the redemption of men from sin. He was raised from the dead with a glorified body and appeared to His disciples as the person who was with them before His crucifixion. He ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where He is the One Mediator, fully God, fully man, in whose Person is effected the reconciliation between God and man. He will return in power and glory to judge the world and to consummate His redemptive mission. He now dwells in all believers as the living and ever-present Lord.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare:

a. His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31,35).

b. His sinless life (Hebrews 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22).

c. His miracles (Acts 2:22; 10:38).

d. His substitutionary work on the cross (1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21).

e. His bodily resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28:6; Luke 24:39; 1 Corinthians 15:4).

f. His exaltation to the right hand of God (Acts 1:9,11; 2:33; Philippians 2:9-11; Hebrews 1:3).

God the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. He inspired holy men of old to write the Scriptures. Through illumination He enables men to understand truth. He exalts Christ. He convicts men of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He calls men to the Savior, and effects regeneration. At the moment of regeneration, He baptizes every believer into the Body of Christ. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts by which they serve God through His church. He seals the believer unto the day of final redemption. His presence in the Christian is the guarantee that God will bring the believer into the fullness of the stature of Christ. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service.

Man

Man is the special creation of God, made in His own image. He created them male and female as the crowning work of His creation. The gift of gender is thus part of the goodness of God's creation. In the beginning man was innocent of sin and was endowed by his Creator with freedom of choice. By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. Through the temptation of Satan man transgressed the command of God, and fell from his original innocence whereby his posterity inherit a nature and an environment inclined toward sin. Therefore, as soon as they are capable of moral action, they become transgressors and are under condemnation. Only the grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship and enable man to fulfill the creative purpose of God. The sacredness of human personality is evident in that God created man in His own image, and in that Christ died for man; therefore, every person of every race possesses full dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love.

Salvation & Evidence of Salvation

We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts. The Grace of God, which brings salvation, has appeared to all men, through the preaching of repentance toward God and through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The inward evidence to the believer of his salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit. The outward evidence to all men is a life of holiness.

Hebrews 6:1; John 3:16-17; Romans 10:9-10; Levit. 1:4 ; Exodus 12:1-511 Thess. 4:7, 2 Tim.1:9; Rom. 8:13-16; Rom.10:13-15; Titus 2:11-12; 3:5-7; Luke 24:46-47; Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22 ; John 3:3.

Repentance

Repentance is a genuine turning from sin toward God in Godly sorrow, surrendering ones will to the obedience of His word. To discontinue the practice of lawlessness and sin. Which allows us to receive His redemption and to be regenerated by the Holy Spirit. Thus, through repentance we receive forgiveness of sins and receive salvation.

Acts 3:19; 2 Chron 7:14; Matthew 9:13; 2 Corin 7:10; Mark 1:15; Acts 2:38-39; Acts 20:20-21; Romans 2:4; Matthew 3:8; Matthew 4:17; Rev 3:19; Luke 5:17; Acts 17:30; Luke 13:3; 2 Peter 3:9; Levit. 16:29-34; Isaiah 53:4-12; Acts 2:21, 3:19; 1 John 1:9; Matthew 7:21-23

Sanctification

Sanctification is the experience, beginning in regeneration, by which the believer is set apart for God's purposes, and is enabled to progress toward moral and spiritual maturity through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in him. Growth in grace should continue throughout the regenerated person's life. It is through the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God that the Christian is enabled to live a godly life through sanctification.

1 John 17:17; Hebrews 10:14; 1 Corinthians 6:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; 5:23;  2 Corinthians 3:18; 6:14-18; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3; Romans 8:29; 12:1-2; Hebrews 2:11

Glorification

Is when you’re finally freed from the presence of sin. Glorification is the culmination of salvation and is the final blessed and abiding state of the redeemed, not received until the passing of this mortal body then we will be in a glorified state , finally free from the presence of sin.

Colossians 3:4; 2 Timothy 4:8; 1 Peter1:4-5; 2 Thessalonians 1:9-10; Psalms 49:15; Rom. 8:30; John 11:23-25 Dan. 12:2

Jesus' Blood

The Blood that Jesus Christ shed on the Cross of Calvary was sinless and is 100% sufficient to cleanse mankind of all sin. Jesus willingly allowed Himself to be punished for both our sinfulness and our sins, enabling all those who believe to be free from the penalty of sin, which is death.

1 John 1:7; Revelation 1:5, 5:9; Colossians 1:20; Romans 3:10-12, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:9; John 1:29; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 2:24; Revelation 12:11; Leviticus 17:11; Hebrews 10:19; Acts 20:28; Hebrews 9:14; Hebrews 9:22 Luke 22:20; Matthew 26:28; Revelation 7:14

Promise of the Father/Baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Given at Pentecost, it is the promise of the Father, sent by Jesus after His Ascension, to empower the church to preach the Gospel throughout the whole earth. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is granted to all who ask for it. Further we believe that this experience is distinct from the new birth and comes after the new birth, that it was a normal experience of the new testament Christians, that it brings an endowment of power for Christian living and service. We believe that the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is witnessed by the initial, physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. This is the Same in essence, as the “gift of tongues”. It is documented in scripture many times upon New Testament believers being filled with the Holy Spirit, but is not required.

Acts 2:4; 1 Corinthians 12:4-10,28; Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8; Joel 2:28-29; Matthew 3:11; Mark 16:17; Acts 1:5, Acts 2:1-4;  Acts 2:17, Acts 8:14-17; Acts 10:38; Acts 10:44-45; Acts 11:15-16; Acts 19:1-6 Luke 3:21-22; Luke 4:1

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is manifested through a variety of spiritual gifts to build and sanctify the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection, and confirm the power of the Gospel. The Bible lists of these gifts are not necessarily exhaustive, and the gifts may occur in various combinations. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives ( 1 Corinthians 14:1). These gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures and should never be used in violation of Biblical parameters.

Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:11, 12 :4-8; Ephesians 4:16; 2 Timothy 1:5-16, 4:14; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31; 1 Cor.  14:1-40; 1 Peter 4:10

Five Fold Ministry/Gifts of Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus himself gave the church apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying and equipping of the body of Christ, till we all come to unity of the faith. The church is to be taught and led by the apostles, prophets, evangelist, pastors, and teachers for the purpose of every believer, seeing and exercising his/her priestly, and kingly ministry, as outline in 1 Peter 2:5; 1 Peter 2:9 and Revelation 16. Working in this ministries will be elders, deacons, leaders with fruitful character and gifted men and women of the body of Christ, the church.

The Church & Commission to the Church

“The church” refers to the people who have received salvation, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus' great commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers and recorded in the Lamb’s Book of Life. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. We have been charged with a commission, where we are co-labors with Gods Spirit, the Holy Spirit to carry out this mission by doing the things listed below.

1. Preach the Gospel ( Mark 16:15)

2. Baptisms (Matt. 28:19 ; Mark 16:16)

3. Cast out Demons  (Matt. 10:1; Mark 16:17)

4. Speak in New Tongues (Mark 16:17 ; Acts 2:1-13)

5. Heal the Sick (Matthew 10:1 ; Mark 16:18)

6. Equip the Saints (Matt. 28:20 ; Eph. 4:12)

7. Be Empowered by the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8; John 14:16-17 )

8. Make Disciples  (Matthew 28:19)

Matthew 28:16-20; Mark 16:15-18; Eph. 1:22; Eph. 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11; 1 Thess. 2:4 ; Matthew 10:1; Acts 1:8 ; John 17:20-23. Matt. 10:1.

Evangelism and Missions

It is the duty and privilege of every follower of Christ and of every church to endeavor to make disciples of all nations. The new birth of man's spirit by God's Holy Spirit means the birth of love for others. Missionary effort on the part of all rests thus upon a spiritual necessity of the regenerate life, and is expressly and repeatedly commanded in the teachings of Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ has commanded the preaching of the gospel to all nations. It is the duty of every child of God to seek constantly to win the lost to Christ by verbal witnessing, undergirded by a Christian lifestyle, and by other methods in harmony with the Spirt and the Gospel of Christ.

Genesis 12:1-3; Exodus 19:5-6; Isaiah 6:1-8; Matthew 9:37-38; 10:5-15; 13:18-30, 37-43; 16:19; 22:9-10; 24:14; 28:18-20; Luke 10:1-18; 24:46-53; John 14:11-12; 15:7-8,16; 17:15; 20:21; Acts 1:8; 2; 8:26-40; 10:42-48; 13:2-3; Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 3:1-11; 1 Thessalonians 1:8; 2 Timothy 4:5; Hebrews 2:1-3; 11:39-12:2; 1 Peter 2:4-10; Revelation 22:17.

Casting out Demons (Spirits)

We believe that deliverance is an integral part of the Gospel. Deliverance from spirits is provided in the atonement, and is the privilege of all believers. Casting out demons is a command according to scripture. (Mark 16:17) Casting out demons is illustrated in the scriptures and in the life and ministry of Jesus. Jesus stated that we would be delivered from evil in His model prayer (Matthew 6:13). The casting out of demons is a sign that the kingdom has come upon us (Matthew 12:28).Jesus says how they come out is in His name. (Mark 16:17)

Mark 1:23-27; Mark 1:32-34; Mark 3:22; Mark 1:39; Mark 3:14-21; Mark 5:1-13; Mark 6:7; Mark7:25-30; Mark 9:25-27; Mark 16:17; Ezekiel 28:16; Luke 4:33-36; Luke 4:41; Luke 6:17-18; Luke 8:26-36; Luke 9:1-2 ; Luke 9:49-50; Luke 11:14; Luke 11:20  Matt. 8:28-32; Matt. 9:32-33; Matt. 10:1; Matt. 10:7-8; Matthew 12:22; Matt. 17:18; Acts 5:16; Acts 8:6-8; Acts 16:16-18; Acts 19:11-12

Healing the Sick

Provision is made in the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ for the healing of the mortal body (Matt. 8:16-17) Prayer for the sick and anointing with oil are taught in the scriptures and are privileges for the church in this present age (James 5:13-16) Healing of the sick is also illustrated in the life and ministry of Jesus, and included in the commission of Jesus to His disciples. It is given as a sign which is to follow believers. It is also a part of Jesus' work on the Cross and one of the gifts of the Spirit.

The Kingdom

The Kingdom of God includes His sovereignty over the universe, His Kingship over all creation, and in the supernatural realm in which His manifested kingdom exists. Jesus continuously taught about the Kingdom of God, that we would desire for it to be manifested on Earth as it is in Heaven in us and through us.

Statement on Marriage and Sexuality.

We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning and that marriage is sanctioned by God which joins one naturally born man and one naturally born woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in scripture. We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to only occur between one man and one woman who are married to each other. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged outside of the marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of sexual immorality such as adultery fornication homosexuality bisexual conduct bestiality incest pornography or  the other sexual perversions or any attempt to change one’s sex or disagreement with one’s biological sex is sinful and offensive to God. We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of the church as the body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to the church members and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by the church in any capacity, or who serve as volunteer leadership as defined by the Apostle and the board, must abide by and agree to this statement of marriage and sexuality and conduct themselves accordingly.

We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, sending His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individuals are to be repudiated and are not in accord with scripture nor the doctrines of the church.

God's Will for Provision

It is the Father's will for believers to become whole, healthy and successful in all areas of life. But because of the fall, many may not receive the full benefits of God's will while on Earth. That fact, though, should never prevent all believers from seeking the full  benefits of Christ's provision in order to better serve others.

1. Spiritual  ( John 3:3-11; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Romans 10:9-10)

2. Mental and Emotional  ( 2 Tim. 1:7, 2:11; Phil. 4:7-8; Rom. 12:2; Isaiah 26:3 )

3. Physical  ( Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24)

4. Financial  (Joshua 1:8; Malachi 3:10-11; Luke 6:38; 2 Cor. 9:6-10; Deut. 28:1-14; Psalm 34:10, 84:11; Philippians 4:19)

The Blessed Hope

The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord is the imminent and blessed hope of the Church.

1 Thessalonians 4:16,17; Romans 8:23; Titus 2:13; 1 Corinthians 15:51,52.

Heaven

Heaven is Real and the eternal dwelling place of God. It is where all those who follow the Lord Jesus Christ will spend eternity when they make Him Lord of their life.

Matthew 5:3- 20; Matthew 6:20; Matthew 19:21; Matthew 25:34; John 17:24; 2 Corinthians 5:1; Hebrews 11:16; 1 Peter 1:4; Ps. 124:8; Ps. 19:1-2; Jeremiah 32:17; Gen 1:1; Ps. 108:5; Amos 9:6.

Hell

Hell is a real place that was created for Lucifer and his fallen angels when they chose to rebel against God.  It is eternal separation from God for those humans who choose to reject God and His Son Jesus. After living one life on earth, the unbelievers, those who willingly choose to reject God will be judged by God and sent to Hell where they will be eternally tormented with the Devil and the Fallen Angels. Where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

The second coming of Christ includes the rapture of the saints, which is our blessed hope, followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign on the earth for one thousand years. This millennial reign will bring the salvation of national Israel and the establishment of universal peace.

The Final Judgment

There will be a final judgment in which the dead that we wicked will be raised and judged according to their works. Whoever name is not found written in the Book of Life, together with the devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, will be cast into everlasting punishment in the lake of fire, which will burn with brimstone, this is the second death.

Matthew 25:46; Mark 9:4348; Revelation 19:20; Rev. 20:11-15; Rev. 21:8; Malachi 4:1-6.

The New Heavens and the New Earth

“We, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.” We believe what Scripture records as an actual New Heaven and New Earth that will replace the one that currently exists. Jesus said that Heaven and Earth will pass away, but not one of His words would pass away.

Ordinances

Baptism in Water

The ordinance of baptism by immersion is commanded in the Scriptures. All who repent and believe on Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized. Thus, they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they also have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life.

Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47,48; Romans 6:4.; Luke 3:21; Matt. 3:13-15.

Holy Communion

The Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements, the bread and the fruit of the vine. This is a symbol as we partake, sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is a memorial of His suffering and death  and a prophecy of His second coming. All believers have the right to take this “till He comes.”

2 Peter 1:4; 1 Cor. 11:26; Matt. 26:26; Luke 22:19; Gen 14:18; Mark 14:22-25.
